Learn to Bet on Craps – Pointers and Tactics
If the payout for a Don’t Pass Odds bet is the same as the amt. of the Flat wager, then the Odds wager is bridged. The section of your Odds bet that’s the same as the Flat bet is put exactly next to the Flat bet. Then, the remainder of the Odds bet is put on top "bridging" them. As an example, let’s say you make a $5 Don’t Pass wager and the hurler throws a point of eight. Knowing the true odds for the eight are six:five (for example., six ways to roll a seven, and five ways to roll an 8), you then put six dollars in Odds with the hope of acquiring $5. In this example, if you win the $6 Odds wager, you earn $5, which absolutely equals the amount you earn with your $5 Flat bet. Therefore, since your Flat bet and Odds wager earn the same amt. (five dollars each), you bridge your six dollars Odds wager by laying a $5 chip immediately beside to your five dollar Flat wager, and then putting the one dollar chip so it bridges the 2 5 dollar chips.
If the payout for a Don’t Pass Odds wager doesn’t equal the amount of the Flat bet, then the Odds bet is heeled. This basically means you position the first chip of your Odds bet chip stack exactly beside to your Flat bet. Then, position all remaining Odds wager chips on that first chip but offset and angled on that bottom chip (your Odds wager chip stack is tilted as a result that it’s leaning on the first chip).
Confused? That is fine, don’t get agitated. The dealer is always ready to assist if you forget. After a couple of instances, it all makes perfect sense. It won’t take too long before you’re a pro. If you are not sure what to do the initial instance you attempt it, simply inform the croupier, "I want to lay some Odds but I don’t comprehend if it should be bridged or heeled." The croupier asks, "How much do you wish to lay?" Let’s assume you say, "Fifteen dollars to win 10." The dealer will request that you place your chips on the craps table (dealers aren’t allowed to accept anything, notably chips, right from a player), and then he correctly heels or bridges them based on the amount of your Flat wager. You’ll quickly get the hang of it. Just don’t be scared to ask the croupier questions. Her job is not only to deal, but also to be friendly and assist the competitors.
